ORDINANCE NO. 15 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, ADDING CHAPTER 1, <br />SECTION 9.01.010 TO TITLE 9 OF THE MOORPARK <br />MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO PUBLIC NOTICE. <br />WHEREAS, the democratic process requires that the broadest <br />possible public notice be given of all planning and zoning <br />applications consistent with limiting the expense of notice to <br />a reasonable cost; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, <br />CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Section 9.01.010 of the Moorpark Municipal <br />Code is added to read as follows: <br />"(a) The provisions of this ordinance apply to all <br />zone changes, special use permits, variances, planned <br />development permits, tentative tract permits, major <br />modifications, specific plans, land divisions, time <br />extensions, all other discretionary land use applica- <br />tions, and appeals of any of the above - described <br />applications. <br />(b) At least eleven days before a hearing on any of <br />the applications described in Section 9.01.010(a), the <br />applicant shall install a sign on the subject property <br />consistent with the following provisions: <br />(1) The size of the sign shall be 32 square <br />feet in area. <br />(2) The height of the sign shall not exceed <br />8 feet. <br />(3) The sign shall be placed in an area of the <br />property most visable to the public, and not more <br />than 5 feet from the property line in residential <br />areas, and not more than 1 foot of the property <br />line in commercial and industrial areas. All <br />approvals of any application of any industrial or <br />commercial property subject to this ordinance shall <br />include a condition for placing on the property <br />signs of other property located interior to the <br />subject property from the street. <br />(4) The sign shall not be illuminated, and <br />only one sign shall be displayed per street frontage <br />of the subject property. <br />-- 1 - <br />
