SUBJECT: Consider a Resolution Determining and Levying the Special Tax in
Community Facilities District 97-1 (Carlsberg Business Park Public
Improvements) for Fiscal Year 1998/1999
BACKGROUND
In compliance with the procedures contained in Chapter 2.5, Part 1, Division 2, Title 5 of
the Government Code of the State of California (the Mello-Roos Community Facilities Act)
and other provisions of applicable law, the City Council, via passage of Resolution 97-
1347 (the Formation Resolution) on July 16, 1997, formed Community Facilities District
97-1/Carlsberg Business Park Public Improvements (CFD 97-1).
Pursuant to the formation of CFD 97-1, the City Council, acting as the governing board of
the District, did authorize the issuance of Special Tax Bonds to finance the purchase of
certain public improvements (streets, sidewalks, etc.), all as more particularly described
in the Official Statement dated July 24, 1997. The bonds have varying maturity dates
ranging from September 1, 1998 to September 1, 2027.
In accordance with Section 9 of the Formation Resolution, the Finance Director of the City
of Moorpark has prepared a current roll of special tax levy obligations by assessor's parcel
number. Said roll shall be submitted to the appropriate officer of the County of Ventura for
collection of said special tax and transmission of the collected special tax to the City for
forwarding to the Fiscal Agent, all in accordance with applicable law and documents
governing the operation of CFD 97-1.
The adoption of the proposed resolution is an annual administrative requirement of CFD
97-1.
