SUBJECT: Consider Request from the Peach Hill Homeowners
Association that the City Construct a Sound Wall Along
Peach Hill Road
DISCUSSION
1. Request: The City is receipt of a letter (Exhibit 1) from
the Lordon Management Company, requesting, on behalf of the
Peach Hill Homeowners Association, that the City construct a
"sound wall" along Peach Hill Road, which borders the north
and west side of the each Hill HOA area (see Exhibit 2).
2. Cost Estimate: An estimate of the cost of such a project is
as follows:

3. Comments:
• The existing fence is -- and the proposed block would be
on private property.
• There is no City precedent for the use of public monies
for this type of project designed to only benefit private
properties.
• Other City projects which include the construction of
block walls adjacent to the street right -of -way, were
undertaken either as a part of a street widening project
or as a requirement of a negotiated street right -of -way
acquisition.
4. Funding Source: There are no funds identified in the budget
for this project.
RECOMMMED ACTION
Direct staff to send letter to the Peach Hill HOA advising them
that their request is denied.

Re: Peach Hill Homeowners Association
Dear Sir or Madam:
I am the Association Manager for Peach Hill Homeowners Association and have been
requested by the Board of Directors to contact you regarding a sound wall for the com-
munity. There is a lot of traffic traveling fast along Peach Hill Road. The Association
would like to ask for a sound wall to be built to alleviate the noise resulting from the
traffic. Is this something the City would be willing to get involved in? Please advise.
