SUBJECT: CONSIDER APPOINTMENT TO THE TEEN COUNCIL
BACKGROUND
Due to the resignation of Mark Gressman, there is one unexpired
term on the Teen Council.
Staff advertised for applicants and four (4) applications were
received from the following:
Ashley Jay Barondess - 9th grade
Laura Bealer - 8th grade
Connie Choe - 10th grade
Daniel Sherwood - 7th grade
The Teen Council Guidelines direct that the Mayor, with the
approval of the City Council, shall make the appointment. The Teen
Council is to consist of not less than seven (7) members and not
more than nine (9) members with a representative from each grade
level from 7th grade to 12th grade, and no less than one (1) and no
more than two (2) representatives at large. All representatives
must be City of Moorpark residents and be enrolled in school.
The Teen Council currently consists of one member in 7th grade, two
members in 8th grade, one member in 9th grade, one member in 10th
grade, one member in 11th grade and two members in 12th grade.
Therefore, all grade levels are represented by the current Teen
Council.
The Council has previously been provided with the applications.

Appoint one (1) member to the Teen Council to fill the unexpired
term to expire June 30, 1999.
