Consider City of Los Angeles Billboard Ordinances
This matter was placed on the agenda at the request of
Mayor Hunter. Attached are copies of the City of Los
Angeles ordinance dealing with billboards. Ordinance No.
172212 prohibits advertising tobacco products within 1,000
feet of a school, religious institution, entertainment
park, youth center, perimeter of a public park or
playground, or a residential zoned property. Ordinance No.
172213 makes the same prohibition for advertising alcoholic
beverages.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council direct staff
as deemed appropriate.
