Kenneth C. Gilbert, Director of Public Works
March 1, 1999 (CC Meeting of 3- 17 -99)
SUBJECT: Consider Selection of a Consultant to Provide
Aerial Photographic Services
OVERVIEW
This requests City Council approval of the selection of a firm to
provide aerial photographic services to the City.
BACKGROUND
In November of 1990 and again in 1994 aerial photographs of the
entire City were purchased. These aerial photographs have proven to
be a very useful resource for the Public Works Department, the
Community Development Department and the Redevelopment Agency.
These photos are referred to almost daily to provide detailed
geographic information regarding the as -built condition of both
public and private improvements throughout the City.
DISCUSSION
A. UPDATED RECORDS & RESOURCES
With the completion of a number of public and private
improvements over the past few years, the 1994 photos no longer
provide an accurate representation of current on -site or
roadway improvements and conditions.
