MOORPARK CITY COUNCIL
AGENDA REPORT
BY:
To: Honorable City Council
From: Michael Mathews, Senior Management Analyst
Date: November 3, 1999
SUBJECT: CONSIDER A RESOLUTION NO. 99- PROHIBITING
PARKING AT THE EASTERLY TERMINUS OF MAJESTIC
COURT
BACKGROUND
Majestic Court, east of Moorpark Avenue, is a dead -end
street that terminates just beyond the rear driveways to
the Le Club Apartments. At the end of the street is an
eighteen -inch high block wall topped with four feet of
chain link fence. Standard dead -end warning signs have been
placed in front of the fence per County Plate F -1 (copy
attached as Exhibit B).
Currently, cars and trucks are parking four abreast against
the fence at the end of the street, blocking the view of
the dead -end safety signs.
DISCUSSION
In the future, there is potential for Majestic Court to
extend into the vacant property behind the apartments if it
were to be developed. The portion of the street that
extends beyond the driveways is 20 feet long and 40 feet
wide.
Two signs stating "'NO PARKING BETWEEN SIGNS" placed against
the chain link fence and nine feet from the curb at each
