RK, iCALIFi)UNIA BY :`?�x� December 7, 1999 (CC Meeting of 1/5/99) SUBJECT: CONSIDER CITY COUNCIL STANDING AND AD HOC COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS AND OTHER COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS AND REGULAR MEETING SCHEDULE FOR STANDING COMMITTEES IN THE YEAR 2000 BACKGROUND The City Council's current Policies Resolution No. 99 -1671 includes the following language in Section 6.2: "With the approval of the majority of the members of the City Council, the Mayor shall make all appointments to Standing Committees of the City Council, including the designated alternate. The appointments shall be made at the first regularly scheduled meeting in January of each year." Section 6.6 of Resolution No. 99 -1671 requires that a regular meeting schedule for Standing Committees shall be approved by minute action of the City Council at the first regularly scheduled meeting in January each year.
