DATE: July 19, 2000 (CC Meeting of 7/19/00)
SUBJECT: Consider Designation of Voting Delegate for League of
California Cities Annual Conference
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
This year's League Annual Conference is scheduled for Thursday,
September 7 through Saturday, September 9, 2000, in Anaheim at the
Convention Center. Each city council has been requested to
designate a Voting Delegate and a Voting Alternate (each city is
entitled to one vote in matters affecting municipal or League
policy). Either the Voting Delegate or the Voting Alternate is
expected to be present at the annual business meeting on Saturday,
September 9 at 9:00 a.m. The Voting Delegate would typically be a
mayor or councilmember (only one official is to be designated as
the Voting Delegate). If a city council will not have a registered
Voting Delegate at the conference but will be represented by other
city officials, one of these officials should be designated as the
Voting Delegate or Alternate. Typically, the Assistant City Manager
or Deputy City Manager is designated as the Voting Alternate for
the City of Moorpark.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Designate the Voting Delegate and /or Voting Alternate for the
League annual conference.
