Traffenstedt, ATOM /City Clerk DATE: November 30, 2000 (CC Meeting of 12/06/2000) SUBJECT: Consider Appointments to City Council Standing Committees, Ad Hoc Committees and Other Assignments BACKGROUND Attached is the City Council and Moorpark Redevelopment Agency Committee Assignments list dated October 13, 2000. This item to consider appointments has been scheduled for December 6 at the request of Mayor Hunter. The City Council will need to waive Council Policy No. 6.2, City Council Standing Committees, Committee Appointments (Council Policies Resolution No. 99- 1671), which requires appointments to be made at the first regularly scheduled meeting in January of each year, in order to allow the appointments to be made on December 6. With the election of two new Councilmembers, moving forward with the appointments in December would allow Council Committees to meet in December, if needed. An item to discuss the Standing Committee meeting schedule for 2001 will be on the January 3 regular meeting agenda, consistent with Council Policy 6.6 (Resolution No. 99- 1671). STAFF RECOMMENDATION Waive Council Policy No. 6.2 and make appointments to City Council Committees on December 6, 2000.
