Gilbert, Director of Public Works DATE: January 22, 2003 (Council Meeting 2 -5 -03) SUBJECT: Consider Bids for the Construction of the 2002 Curb Ramp Project BACKGROUND Staff conducted a survey of all City streets to review the degree to which City streets and sidewalks accommodate handicap access. That is, there were curb ramps at the two corners of the side street, but there was no curb ramp across the street from the side street. The City Engineer's office prepared plans for the construction of curb ramps at all identified deficient "T" intersections. In December of 2002 the City Council approved the subject project and authorized staff to advertise for receipt of bids the construction of the project. DISCUSSION A.
