Subject: May 15 workshop on High Street Development
City Council Members-I am unable to attend this evening's workshop but wanted to share my thoughts with you. I have lived in Moorpark
for many years and have witnessed many attempts to"develop"the downtown area. I have a problem with the development being
proposed by The Daly Group for the increased traffic it will generate, specifically the 91 rental units.(91 rental units will generate 182
additional cars at a minimum,) Our traffic is becoming unbearable. The westbound traffic on High Street has increased tenfold in the recent
years(by my estimation). The southbound traffic on Moorpark Avenue is at times so congested you cannot get thru the signals until the 3rd
cycle. The train crossing also contributes to the congestion.Westbound LA Avenue is a joke at certain times during the day. Once again,it
can take 3 or 4 signal cycles to get thru. Finally, it is a mystery to me that so many high density projects can be approved with our"on again
off again" drought conditions. In my option the quality of life in Moorpark is deteriorating due to the traffic/truck conditions.Thank you for
your consideration. Sharlene Holmes 200 Wicks Road, Moorpark.
