Dennis Delzeit, City Engineer DATE: City Council Meeting of September 16, 1985 SUBJECT: Acceptance of Public Improvements and Exoneration of Bonds Tract 2851 (Griffin) BACKGROUND INFORMATION Tract 2851 is located northwest and adjacent to the intersection of Campus Park Drive and Collins Drive in the City of Moorpark. A vicinity map is enclosed for reference. On November 4, 1980 the Ventura County Board of Supervisors approved the Final Map and entered into an agreement with Griffin Homes for the construction of public improvaments. The agreement required completion of all improvements by February 4, 1982. The Ventura County Board of Supervisors subsequently approved two time extensions, with the most current extension requiring all improvements by November 4, 1983 . Construction of the public improvements has recently been completed to our satisfaction. Accordingly, it is now appropriate to accept the improvements and exonerate the Monument Bond, No. 100580' in the amount of $9,000.00, issued by the Daveloper/s Insurance Company. SEP � � ���� ° � `+�w City of Moorpark 799 Moorpark Avenue Moorpark, California 93021 (805)529-6864 . ~ Page 2 --~= It is also appropriate to reduce the Performance and Payment Bond, No. 100578" in the amount of $470"000.00, issued by the Developer's Insurance Company, by 50%. This bond will remain in effect for one year from the date of acceptance. The Grading Bond, No. 100577v in the amount of $130»000.00x issued by the Developer's Insurance Company, will also remain in full force and effect for one year from the date of acceptance. Also, it should be noted that the landscaping for the project has been approved. Therefore, in accordance with the requirements of Moorpark Resolution No. 84-65v maintenance of the landscaping will be Griffin Homesv responsibility for a period of one year, (which began June 30, 1985) . At the end of the year, the landscaping will be inspected and, if in suitable condition, the maintenance responsibility will be transferred to the Lighting and Landscaping Maintenance Assessment District. RECOMMENDED ACTION Accept the public improvements within Tract 2851» include the streets in the City street system for maintenance and authorize the City Clerk to exonerate the Monument Bond and reduce the Performance and Payment Bond.
