SUBJECT: Consider Authorization for Recordation of the Notice of
Completion for Demolition of 136 First Street and Release of
Bonds in Accordance with the Contract
BACKGROUND & DISCUSSION
On July 17, 2019, the City Council awarded the Demolition of 136 First Street to
Asbestos Instant Response, Inc. (AIR) for a total contract value of $55,744.00, which
included contingency in the amount of $7,300.00. There was one change order issued
for the project in the amount of $2,143.00. The Change Order individual costs are
itemized below:

Staff is recommending that the City Council authorize the recordation of the Notice of
Completion. With the City Council’s authorization to record the Notice of Completion,
the project bonds will be released as follows:
• Performance Bond No. CMGP0002498 shall be null and void one (1) year
after the recordation of the Notice of Completion; and
• Payment Bond No. CMGP0002498 shall be null and void six (6) months after
the recordation of the Notice of Completion.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact with the release of performance and payment bonds.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
1. Authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion; and
2. Authorize release of the Performance Bond and Payment Bond (Number
CMGP0002498) as outlined in the agenda report.
