Riley, Assistant City Manager DATE: July 8, 2004 (Meeting of 7/21/04) SUBJECT: Consider Acceptance of Grant Deed for 282 Los Angeles Avenue (APN 506 -0- 020 -240) BACKGROUND Staff has concluded the acquisition of the property located at 282 Los Angeles Avenue and escrow is scheduled to close on July 22, 2004. The property was acquired for a total price of $410,000 plus standard closing costs of $3,220 and $1,355 to conduct a Preliminary Environmental Site Assessment of the property. Funds from the Los Angeles Avenue Area of Contribution (LAAOC) were used to pay these costs and acquire the property. The City will use approximately twenty -foot (201) of frontage from this parcel on Los Angeles Avenue for the eventual widening of the street. The remainder of the property may be sold to other parties or the Redevelopment Agency for future affordable housing purposes. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Accept Fee Title to the Property at 282 Los Angeles Avenue and direct City Clerk to execute a Certificate of Acceptance on behalf of the City and to record the Grant Deed with the County of Ventura.
