Gilbert, Director of Public Works May 26, 2005 (Council Meeting 6 -1 -05) Subject: Notice of Completion for the Construction of the Spring Road Median Landscaping North of Second Street and the Replacement of the Parkway Trees on the East Side of Tierra Rejada Road South of Courtney Lane DISCUSSION A. Background On February 2, 2005, the City Council approved the award of contract for the construction of the subject project. B. Project Description 1. Spring Road Median Landscaping: The median in Spring Road north of Second Street (see Exhibit 1) was constructed as a part of the Flinn Avenue Realignment and Reconstruction Project. The subject project installed an irrigation system and landscaping in that median. The project included installation of a waterline for the future landscaped median to be constructed south of Second Street. 2. Tierra Rejada Road Parkway Tree Replacement: The parkway trees along the east side of Tierra Rejada Road south of Courtney Lane (see Exhibit 1) caused damage to the sidewalks in that area. The subject project removed those trees, repaired the sidewalk and installed replacement parkway trees with tree grates. C. Changes 1. Quantity Adjustments: The actual quantities required by a project were identical to the engineer's estimate. There was, therefore, no adjustment to the final cost due to quantity adjustments.
