ACTION:
CITY OF MOORPARK
CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPOReY'
TO: The Honorable City Council
FROM: Mary K. Lindley, Parks, Recreation, and Community,pr
Services Director
DATE: June 16, 2005 (Meeting of July 6, 2004)
SUBJECT: Consider Caltrans Lease Renewal for College View
Park
DISCUSSION
On January 15, 1994, the City of Moorpark entered into
lease agreement with State of California, Department of
Transportation (Caltrans) for approximately .57 acres along
the southern property line of College View Park, previously
named Paul E. Griffin Park (see Attachment A) . The property
is used to expand usable park space. The term of the lease
is from July 1, 1995 to June 30, 2005. Rent for the leased
property is $1.00 per year and payment of all utilities
associated with the property.
The City requested a 10 -year renewal of the lease agreement
in April. However, Caltrans was not able to locate the
original agreement and as a result, the renewal action is
slightly late. Caltrans staff has agreed to extend the term
of the existing agreement while the new agreement is
drafted and executed. The new lease agreement will also
contain a term of 10 -years with rent in the amount of
$1.00.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the Mayor to sign the Lease Agreement with
Caltrans for College View Park subject to final language
approval by the City Manager and City Attorney.
