Lindley, Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Director DATE: October 13, 2005 (Meeting of November 2, 2005) SUBJECT: Consider Contract for Water Fountain Maintenance nTQr'TTCCTnM The Council is being asked to authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with All Pro Pool & Spa for water fountain maintenance and periodic repair. The City has two water fountains: the large decorative rock water fountain at the southwest corner of Tierra Rejada Road and Mountain Trail Street (Vons Center), and the new water fountain on the Police Facility patio. Our current maintenance contract with Complete Property Maintenance expired October 31, 2005. Staff solicited bids from local pool maintenance and repair companies, including the City's current contractor, for the monthly maintenance and repair of two water fountains. Costs include weekly cleaning, testing, and chemicals, and repairs when necessary. The bid results are as follows: Bidder Monthly Cost (2 fountains All Pro Pool and Spa - $210.00 EverCare Pool Service - $265.00 Only 1 Pool & Spa - $320.00 The successful qualified bidder is All Pro Pool & Spa. The term of the contract is for one year, with two one -year optional extensions. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with All Pro Pool & Spa for water fountain maintenance and repair.
