B. City Council Action The location `A' of the Section 21354 of the California Vehicle Code states that the legislative body of any City may direct the placement of STOP signs upon streets under its jurisdiction. The subject Resolution provides for such an action. C. Warrants One of the STOP sign "Warrants" set forth in the Caltrans Traffic Manual is at an intersection where a street enters a "through" street, such as a "T" intersection. The placement of a STOP sign at the minor street entrance to Flory Avenue is consistent with this Stop Sign Warrant. STAFF RECOMNJENDATION Adopt Resolution No 2005- Attachments: Exhibit 1: stop—Moonsong Resolution Exhibit 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2005 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING FLORY AVENUE TO BE A THROUGH STREET IN THE VICINITY OF MOONSONG COURT, AND DIRECTING THE PLACEMENT OF A STOP SIGN AT THE MOONSONG COURT ENTRANCE THERETO WHEREAS, Section 21354 of the California Vehicle Code (CVC) authorizes the City to designate any City street to be a through street, thereby allowing the placement of STOP signs at the entrances to said street; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the movement of traffic at the intersection of Flory Avenue and Moonsong Court would be rendered more safe if such traffic controls were to be installed. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Flory Avenue is hereby designated a through street in the vicinity of Moonsong Court and a STOP sign is hereby directed to be placed at the east leg (westbound traffic) of said intersection, as shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby directed to provide for the installation and maintenance of appropriate signs and markings to effectuate these requirements. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause a certified resolution to be filed in the book of original resolutions. PASSED AND ADOPTED this day of , 2005.
