Gilbert, Interim Public Works Director November 8, 2005 (Council Meeting 11- 16 -05) Resolution Establishing No Stopping Anytime Parking Restrictions on Virginia Colony Place A. Curbside Parkinq on Virginia Colonv Place As you may be aware, curbside parking is not permitted on Condor Drive. Each of the properties on Condor Drive should have sufficient on -site parking to accommodate their needs. It has recently come to the attention of staff that some of the people who work, or attend the Community High School on Condor Drive, are parking on Virginia Colony Place. In the view of staff, the parking of vehicles on portions of Virginia Colony Drive causes visibility problems and restricts the flow of traffic on this narrow street. B. Parking Restriction It is recommended below that restrictions be established on Colony Place depicted on Exhibit STAFF RECOMMENDATION Adopt Resolution No. 2005- Attachments: Exhibit 1: Aerial Photo Exhibit 2: Resolution PRK_virginia colony-0509 NO STOPPING ANYTIME parking those portions of Virginia 1. 0`00'.C4 M o € ww. .. t g a Exhibit 2 RESOLUTION NO. 2005 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING NO STOPPING ANYTIME ZONES ON VIRGINIA COLONY PLACE WHEREAS, Section 22507 of the California Vehicle Code (CVC) provides for the restriction and /or prohibition of parking and /or stopping on any local streets by a local agency; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that traffic safety would be improved if certain parking restrictions were established on Virginia Colony Place. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 2. The City Manager shall cause the placement of appropriate signs and /or markings giving notice of the parking restrictions provided for herein. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause a certified resolution to be filed in the book of original resolutions. PASSED AND ADOPTED this day of , 2005.
