SUBJECT: Consider Scheduling Joint City Council Meetings with the Arts
Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, Library Board, and
Planning Commission
DISCUSSION
Historically, the City Council had scheduled joint meetings with Boards and
Commissions prior to discussion in late May of annual goals and objectives. On May 9,
2019, the City Council participated in a retreat for the purposes of discussing goals and
objectives for Fiscal Years 2019-20 and 2020-21, resulting in the development of an
overall Strategic Plan. On July 17, 2019, the City Council adopted the Strategies,
Goals, and Objectives developed as a result of the City Council retreat.
The City Council has typically scheduled these joint meetings to be held on one
evening. If the Council wishes to continue this practice, staff is suggesting:
1) Either Wednesday, March 25, April 8 or, April 22 for the meetings to be
scheduled for:
6:00 p.m. Arts Commission
6:30 p.m. Parks and Recreation Commission
7:00 p.m. Library Board
7:30 p.m. Planning Commission
or
