Summary
City of Moorpark
•Ordinance adoption is required by SB 1383.
•Ordinance will become effective January 1, 2022.
•Single family residences will dispose of organic waste, including food waste,
using the existing three container system.
•Businesses generating >2 cubic yard per week of total solid waste and
multifamily residential complexes will be required to arrange for source
separated organics collection.
•Tier 1 edible food waste generators will be required to participate in a
diversion program beginning January 1, 2022.
•Tier 2 edible food waste generators will be required to participate in a
diversion program beginning January 1, 2024.
