MOORPARK CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT TO: Honorable City Council FROM: Ky Spangler, City Clerk DATE: 12/15/2021 Regular Meeting SUBJECT: Consider Dates for Regularly Scheduled City Council Meetings for Calendar Year 2022 and Standing Committee Meeting Schedule for Calendar Year 2022 DISCUSSION Moorpark Municipal Code Section 2.04.10 establishes the City Council regular meetings for the first and third Wednesday of each month. Each year staff presents a calendar to the City Council outlining which dates regular City Council meetings will occur. In providing the annual calendar for City Council meetings, staff considers national holidays, anticipated training and conferences, and a summer “dark” period. Staff is requesting the City Council provide any feedback and adopt a calendar for the regularly scheduled City Council meetings for year 2022 that includes the regular meeting cancellations as follows: •August 3 and August 17, providing a six-week summer recess For planning purposes, the proposed calendar also provides for a Special Meeting on May 25, 2021, for the City’s Annual Budget Workshop. Standing Committee Meeting Schedule At the December 1, 2021, City Council meeting, reorganization took place with Councilmember Castro being appointed as Mayor Pro Tem for the 2021-2022 term. The Mayor Pro Tem serves as a member of the Administration, Finance, and Public Safety Standing Committee with the immediate Mayor Pro Tem (Councilmember Enegren) becoming the alternate. Item: 9.A. 114 Honorable City Council 12/15/2021 Regular Meeting Page 2 City Council Policy 1.2.6, Standing Committees - Meeting Schedule, states the schedule for Standing Committees is to be approved by minute action of the City Council at the first regularly scheduled meeting in January of each year. In order to establish the meeting day and time for Standing Committees for the month of January, approval of the schedule is being presented at this time. Proposed days and times for standing committee meetings remain the same. Changes to the representatives on the Community and Economic Development Committee or Public Works and Transportation Committee can be made if so desired. 1.Administration, Finance, and Public Safety Committee Members: Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem (Castro) Alternate: Immediate Past Mayor Pro Tem (Enegren) Staff: Assistant City Manager Meeting Date: First Wednesday of the month at 5:45 p.m. 2.Community and Economic Development Committee Members: Enegren and Groff Alternate: Pollock Staff: Community Development Director Meeting Date: Third Wednesday of the month at 5:45 p.m. 3.Transportation and Public Works Committee Members: Castro and Enegren Alternate: Groff Staff: City Engineer Meeting Date: First Monday of the month at 5:45 p.m. FISCAL IMPACT None. COUNCIL GOAL COMPLIANCE This action does not support a current strategic directive.
