ADJOURNMENT: All writings and documents provided to the Teen Council regarding the agenda items are available for public inspection at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center public counter located at 4550 Tierra Rejada Road during regular business hours. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 5:02 p.m. by Co -Chair, Jade Yakel. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Co -Chair, JadeYakel. 3. ROLL CALL: Present: Owen Abilleira, Riya Argawal, Capri Alva, Abraham Jeong, Peyton LitbergFrank, Arnav Magadala, Everly Moore, Maribel Rodriguez, Sahil Sampangi, and Jade Yakel. Absent: Grace Chandler, Erica Chen, Melanie Jimenez, Jaynie Jindarat, and Parker Rowley. Staff Present: Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. 5. DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEMS: A. Teen Council Member Expectations i. Teen Council Members were given the opportunity to discuss how frequently they would like to meet, and we discussed how important their attendance is, amidst their busy extracurricular schedules. Members are also expected to attend many, if not all, of the Recreation events. B. 2022 Event Schedule i. Teen Council was given a schedule of upcoming events where Teen Council would be asked to volunteer. Further event details and expectations at an upcoming meeting. • Haunted High Street: Volunteer hours from 4:00-8:00 and members are asked to bring friends outside of Teen Council to volunteer too. • Skate Night: Volunteers appreciated but not mandated because it isn't such a big event, but members are expected to help promote the event. • Movie Nights: Not volunteer heavy, but discussed hosting movies that teens are interested in. • Teen Dodgeball Night: Need help with marketing the event specifically. • Breakfast with Santa: Serve breakfast to families along with art and crafts/pictures with Santa. Input/Ideas for 2023 i. Earth Day: Having an actual Teen Council Booth ii. Movie Nights: Have some that are specifically for teens (brainstorm movie recs) iii. Teen Specific Events: Competitive things always work iv. Teen Picnics (informal, just chill hangout events) V. Music Events: Jazz Combos maybe? Huckleberry Young (Jazz Representative for Moorpark High School) vi. Silent Auction on Holiday Baskets 6. ANNOUNCEMENTS/FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: None. 7.
