ANTONIO CASTRO Councilmember ITEM 7.A TEEN COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES December 7, 2022, 5:00 p.m. Arroyo Vista Recreation Center, 4550 Tierra Rejada Road 1. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 5:03 p.m. by Chair, Jaynie Jindarat. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by member, Melanie Jimenez. 3. ROLL CALL: Present: Capri Alva, Grace Chandler, Melanie Jimenez, Jaynie Jindarat, Peyton LitbergFrank, Arnav Magadala, Everly Moore, Maribel Rodriguez, Parker Rowley, Sahil Sampangi, and Jade Yakel. Absent: Owen Abilleira, Riya Argawal, Erica Chen, and Abraham Jeong. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. 5. DISCUSSION / ACTION ITEMS: 1. Event Recap and Feedback Opportunity a. Haunted High Street - Group members expressed that they had a good time helping at this event, and provided feedback which included: rotating activity stations, keeping the carnival area in the same spot for future events since it’s a large area, and proposed the idea for a bake sale or some sort of fundraising opportunity at this event. b. Teen Dodgeball Night – No Teen Council members attended this event, so Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson, gave a recap of the event and encouraged Teen Council to attend the next dodgeball event. 2. Upcoming Events a. Breakfast with Santa – Saturday & Sunday, December 10 & 11, 2022: Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson, outlined details of the event and communicated tasks and expectations for Teen Coun cil and their additional volunteers. Members then signed up for volunteer times on each event date. b. “A Very Merry” Skate Night – Saturday, December 17, 2022: Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson encouraged Teen Council to attend this event with their friends and continue to promote the event to their extracurricular clubs and friends. ADJOURNAMENT: Chair, Jaynie Jindarat, adjourned the meeting at 5:33 p.m. Victoria Peterson, Recreation Supervisor
