CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 5:07 p.m. by Chair, Jaynie Jindarat. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by member, Grace Chandler. 3. ROLL CALL: Present: Owen Abilleira, Capri Alva, Grace Chandler, Abraham Jeong, Melanie Jimenez, Jaynie Jindarat, Peyton LitbergFrank, Arnav Magadala, Everly Moore, Maribel Rodriguez, Sahil Sampangi, and Jade Yakel. Absent: Riya Argawal, Erica Chen, and Parker Rowley. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. 5. DISCUSSION / ACTION ITEMS: A. Upcoming Events i. Easter Egg Hunt — Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson, discussed the importance of securing more volunteers for this event, and discussed ways to promote the need for volunteers at the high school and middle schools. Teen Council signed up for volunteer times and said they would begin asking their friends to attend. Each component and area of the event site was discussed in depth so those present could give their shift preferences. ii. Teen Cupcake Challenge — Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson, discussed the need for a minimum of three Teen Council members to volunteer at this event and serve as kitchen monitors and judges. Teen Dodgeball Night — Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson, shared tasks that needed to be accomplished ahead of the Teen Dodgeball Night. Member Owen Abilleira shared a logo he had created, and Teen Council wanted to use this logo on an upcoming flyer they could create. Teen Council discussed different games that could be played, and discussed what snacks and drinks needed to be purchased. 6. ANNOUNCEMENTS/FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: A. Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson, reminded Teen Council that there was no meeting on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. 7. CONSENT CALENDAR: A. Minutes from March 15, 2023 were approved. 8. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 5:04 p.m. by Chair, Jaynie Jindarat. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by a member of Teen Council. 3. ROLL CALL: Present: Owen Abilleira, Riya Argawal, Capri Alva, Erica Chen, Melanie Jimenez, Jaynie Jindarat, Peyton LitbergFrank, Arnav Magadala, Everly Moore, Maribel Rodriguez, Sahil Sampangi, and Jade Yakel. Absent: Grace Chandler, Abraham Jeong, and Parker Rowley. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. 5. DISCUSSION / ACTION ITEMS: A. Event Recap — Easter Egg Hunt i. Recreation Coordinator, Andrea Moncada, expressed the City's deepest gratitude for the amount of volunteers that attended the event, and thanked Teen Council for their work at the event and for bringing additional volunteers. Andrea Moncada asked for feedback to help improve future Easter Egg Hunt events, and Teen Council members stated that the event overall ran smoothly and gave comments for improvement: train ride lines needed to have organization, egg hunts ran on schedule which gave volunteers time to disperse eggs, needed more face painting supplies and staff to manage the area. Upcoming Events i. Teen Cupcake Challenge — Recreation Coordinator, Andrea Moncada, discussed the need for a minimum of three Teen Council members to volunteer at this event and serve as kitchen monitors and judges. Three members gave their time commitment. ii. Moorpark Earth Festival - Recreation Coordinator, Andrea Moncada, followed up on ideas for a Teen Council booth at the Earth Festival. Teen Council members agreed that rock painting would be the sole activity, and discussed having a "menu" of paintable items and created a shopping list. iii. Teen Dodgeball Night — Recreation Coordinator, Andrea Moncada, shared tasks that needed to be accomplished ahead of the Teen Dodgeball Night. Since the event is 80's themed, members discussed creating an 80's music playlist. Teen Council agreed to help share the event at their respective schools to increase attendance. C. Teen Council Recognition at City Council i. Recreation Coordinator, Andrea Moncada, reminded the Teen Council that they needed to attend their final meeting, which is a recognition at the City Council meeting on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. D. Recognition on Teen Council title i. Recreation Coordinator, Andrea Moncada, presented a vote to the Teen Council to recognize Teen Council Member Peyton LitbergFrank as a secretary of the Teen Council. Members voted to approve this additional title. 6. ANNOUNCEMENTS/FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: None. 7. CONSENT CALENDAR: None. 8.
