The City of Moorpark has been approached by Century 21 Valenza Realty
of Moorpark for a Special Use Permit for the operation of a 5-K Run.
The proposed event is scheduled for June 4, 1988, at 7:00 A.M. to 10:00
A.M. and is open to all residents. Proceeds of the event go to the
Moorpark High School track team.
City staff has proceeded with the permit processing and enclosed is the
correspondence and conditions of approval for the event. The proposed
route (enclosed in the permit conditions) has been reviewed by Lt. Mike
Brown for safety concerns. No action is required by the City Council.

Please find enclosed the conditions (Attachment A) set forth by the
City of Moorpark for the operation of the proposed 5-K Run sponsored by
Valenza Realty. It is the City's understanding that the proposed Run
is to take place on June 4, 1988.
Also attached is the Special Use Permit (Attachment B) required for
completion for approval of the event. The City is requesting that the
conditions be met a minimum of five (5) working days prior to the start
of the event.
The City Council will be made aware of your request for the Special Use
Permit at the May 4, 1988 City Council meeting. This item will be
submitted as a staff information item, and you are welcome to attend
should you desire.

regarding this communication or the required conditions of approval.

ATTACHMENT A
CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL OF
SUBJECT: 5-K Run Valenza Realty
DATE OF EVENT: June 4, 1988
1.
Applicant shall provide to City
five (5) working days prior to start of event:
A) Letter of Approval from Moorpark Unified School District
regarding use of property for subject event.
B) Encroachment Permit from the Public Works Department (contact

permit shall be complied with prior to start of event.
C) Letter of Approval from the property manager/owner of who are
utilized for parking, storage or assembly for the event. All
requirements of letter (if any) shall be complied with prior
to start of event.
D) Certificate of Insurance naming the City as additionally
insured. Such certificate must be for a minimum amount of 1
million dollars and specified on certificate that said
certificate shall not be subject to cancellation or
modification until after 30-days written notice to City.
E) Copy of 5-K route with barricade/cone locations, detour
signage, event monitors, first -aid locations. Such route,
with the safety/traffic requirements, are subject to final
approval by the Moorpark Police Department (Ventura County
Sheriff's Department). Attached is the preliminary proposed
route with safety/traffic requirements (Attachment A).
F) Copy of rules and regulations governing the event and
participants. Said rules and regulations are subject to
approval by the City of Moorpark and may be modified if
deemed necessary.
G) Payment of all fees for administration processing and
supervision of the event per the attached schedule
(Attachment B).
2. Applicant shall submit letter to the City of Moorpark stating that
the event shall commence no earlier than 7:00 A.M. and terminate
no later than 10:30 A.M. on the event date.
3. Applicant shall submit to the City of Moorpark a proof of mailing
of a letter explaining the event and possible consequences to all
residents or business owners on Gabbert, Commerce, Poindexter
Avenue and Shasta Avenue. Said mailing must occur two weeks prior
to event with a sample letter to be approved by the City of
Moorpark.

Schedule of Fees
The City of Moorpark, under normal policy, requires a fee deposit for

the expected actual charges applicable to the permit. The expected
actual charges and required deposit amount are as follows:
Sheriff Department:
2 officers/4 hours each @ $24.81/hr. $198.48
Administration:
4 hours @ $45.00/hr. 180.00
Estimated Actual Charges 378.48
Deposit with City (1500%) $435.60
Please deposit this amount with the City of Moorpark at 799 Moorpark
Avenue, Moorpark CA 93021. After actual charges have been applied to
your deposit amount, a refund will be submitted to your agency within
30 days of the event.
