As the City Council is aware, during the rev1s1ons to the plans for
Peach Hill Park several revisions were made including the addition of
twelve trees to the northern end of the park sites (see Exhibit A).
The intent of the City Council was to develop a green space area at the
north end of the park with the 12 additional trees. Additionally, the
12 additional trees were to be added to the planting plan and included
in the contract.
Subsequent to the above mentioned events, it was discovered during the
landscape review/walk-thru that fourteen trees included in the original
landscape plan had not been planted. Additionally, it has been
identified that the contractor has not been informed of the additional
trees and therefore, has not previously included them in any contract
price for planting.
After it was discovered that the Exhibit A (as attached) had not been
forwarded to the landscape architect or the contractor, and that
fourteen trees (which were required pursuant to the original plans) had
been omitted, it was suggested by the landscape architect that these
trees be utilized for the northern area site. The suggestion was made
for two primary reasons: 1) to eliminate the need for a change order
for the additional 12 trees; and 2) because the current number of trees
in the remainder of the park are sufficient in number.
