DENNIS DELZEIT JOHN PATRICK LANE JV..j City Engineer 9TE0 Councilmember JOHN V.GILLESPIE MAUREEN W.WALL Chief of Police City Clerk THOMAS P.GENOVESE MEMOR ANDUM City Treasurer TO: The Honorable City Council /$ FROM: Patrick J. Richards, Director of Community Development DATE: October 15, 1987 (CC meeting of 10/21/87) SUBJECT: PROPOSED HOUSE NUMBER CHANGES OR STREET NAME CHANGE FOR CLOVERDALE STREET Background The Council is aware that several months ago a paramedic response was delayed because of confusion in the house numbering system that exists on N.E. and N.W. Cloverdale Streets. The north and south "legs" of the horseshoe shaped street are both numbered in the 4200 through 4300 range, typical of north-south streets in that part of the City. The top of the horseshoe is numbered in the 12100 through 13100 range, typical of an east-west street in this vicinity. The confusion arose when the paramedic call came in that "northeast" or "northwest" Cloverdale was not specified. If this is not known, anyone looking for a Cloverdale address could easily go to the wrong "leg" of the horseshoe and not find the needed address (see attached map) . Recommendation Consider changing the house numbers only of the first five lots on N.E. Cloverdale. Prior to taking any formal action direct staff to contact these residents to discuss the concern and hopefully receive written concurrence from all five affected property owners. ( It is staff' s understanding that this matter has already been discussed with most, if not all five, and that those who had been approached were agreeable to the house number change. 799 Moorpark Avenue Moorpark, California 93021 (805) 529-6864 CLOVRDLE/CC I TENS w — KA 1F oOy g • N d 0 O 0V01 w„, S ,K C, 111N ,..,, NOV3d s.
