HomeMy WebLinkAboutAGENDA REPORT 1987 0826 CC ADJ ITEM 11G ITEM , i. e, . unties August 10, 1987 Mr. Steve Kueny, City Manager City of Moorpark 799 Moorpark Avenue Moorpark, CA 93021 Re: South Meadows Park Dear Steve: On August 5, 1987 the City Council took action regarding tennis facilities at South Meadows Park. The Council voted to have two lighted tennis courts. After reviewing the park plans again we want to construct the tennis facilities per the original plan. We therefore request that the Council agree to the original tennis facility plan which indicates that three tennis courts will be constructed by Urban West. We believe that more courts will provide more service to the City than fewer lighted courts. We also believe that more courts provide a better basic facility which can be added to at a later date if the City chooses. As you know, the tennis courts we are providing are not part of the required components for the park. If the City would like to provide extra items, like a fourth tennis court or tennis court lighting, we would be willing to include these items in the project bid package and pass the direct costs of these items on to the City. We would, of course, require a reimbursement agreement with the City in order to construct these extra items. The approximate costs for tennis facilities are: 1 tennis court @ $20,000, 1 set of tennis court lights @ $4,000. The final cost may be higher or lower based on the actual construction contract. Since there are many residents who would be able to enjoy the completed park, we would like to clarify this item now so we can complete a plan check and prepare for construction. HECIEIVEO -- AUG 1 O 1987 CITY OF MOORPARK Mr. Steve Kueny August 10, 1987 Page 2 We therefore request that: 1. This item be placed on the August 19 Council agenda for action. 2. The City Council agree to the original tennis facility design of three tennis courts at South Meadows Park to be constructed by Urban West. Thank you. Sincerely, Tom Zanic TZ:mgb cc: Jerry Forde, City of Moorpark
