At the Council desk is the 72 page copy of the 1985 Analysis of Revisions to the Uniform Building Code and related codes. 799 Moorpark Avenue Moorpark, California 93021 (805) 529-6864 ORDINANCE NO. 75 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 8.01.001 OF TITLE 8 OF THE MOORPARK MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE CURRENT EDITIONS OF CERTAIN MODEL CODES AS FOLLOWS: UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1985 EDITION; UNIFORM BUILDING CODE STANDARDS, 1985 EDITION; UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1985 EDITION; UNIFORM CODE FOR THE ABATEMENT OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS, 1985 EDITION; NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1984 EDITION; UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1985 EDITION; AND THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1985 EDITION, TOGETHER WITH AMENDMENTS THERETO; AND THE VENTURA COUNTY BUILDING CODE. WHEREAS, Government Code Section 50022 .1, et seq. , provides that ordinances and codes of the Federal, State, or any agency of either of them, may be adopted by reference, provided that prior to such adoption by reference a notice public hearing has been held; and WHEREAS, a noticed public hearing has been held by the City Council, at which time all interested persons had the opportunity to appear and be heard on the matter of adopting by reference the Ventura County Building Code, and the current editions of certain model codes, as follows: Uniform Building Code, 1985 Edidion; Uniform Building Code Standards, 1985 Edition; Uniform Housing Code, 1985 Edition; Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1985 Edition; National Electrical Code, 1984 Edition; Uniform Plumbing Code, 1985 Edition; and the Uniform Mechanical Code, 1985 Edition, together with amendments thereto; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Section 8. 01. 001 of Title 8 of the Moorpark Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: "Subject to the changes and amendments set forth in this chapter, the standards, provisions and conditions to be observed and followed in the regulation and control of design, construction, quality and materials used in the occupancy, location and maintenance of all buildings and structures, and certain equipment specifically regulated in this title within the city, shall be the following Model Codes: "Uniform Building Code, 1985 Edition Uniform Building Code Standards, 1985 Edition Uniform Housing Code, 1985 Edition Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1985 Edition National Electrical Code, 1984 Edition Uniform Plumbing Code, 1985 Edition Ventura County Building Code -1- together with amendments thereto. The above codes were ordered filed by the City Council and actually were filed in the office of the City Clerk. Each of the codes ref erred to above is, by this reference, expressly incorporated in this chapter and made a part hereof as fully and for all intents and purposes as though set forth in this chapter at length. In the event there is any inconsistency between any of the uniform codes and the provisions of the Ventura County Building Code mentioned in this section, then the provisions of the Ventura County Building Code shall prevail." SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after its passage and adoption. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance; shall enter the same in the book of original ordinances of said City; shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council meeting at which the same is passed and adopted; and shall, within fifteen ( 15) days after the passage and adoption thereof, cause the same to be published once in the Moorpark News, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, as defined in Section 6008 of the Government Code, for the City of Moorpark, and which is herebv designated for that purpose.
