MEMORANDUM
TO: Parks & Recreation Commissiolli
FROM: Community Services Department
DATE: February 2 , 1987
SUBJECT: GRIFFIN SENIOR PARK IMPROVEMENTS - Award of Contract
ITEM
On January 20 , 1987 , sealed bids from two contractors were
received and opened for the above project.
The bids received are as follows :
J. F. Contractor $35 , 000 . 00
BLM Constructors $28 , 200 . 00
Staff has reviewed all bids received and requests that the
Parks and Recreation Commission approve and recommend that
City Council award the project to BLM Constructors as the
lowest responsible bidder. Staff' s review of BLM Constructors
has found then to be an experienced and well qualified contractor.
While there is a total of 50 , 000 available for this project
(20 , 000 City funds & 30 , 000) Griffin Homes) City Council has
also requested the Commissioners to reevaluate the scope of the
project and consider scaling the project down in order to
minimize costs in light of the implementation of Measure F.
and it potential impact on future park improvement funds .
ACTION
Commissioners pleasure in establishing scope of project .
