REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
February 12, 2025, 5:00 p.m.
Arroyo Vista Recreation Center,
4550 Tierra Reiada Road
1. CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Teen Council member, Abraham
Jeong.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Gauransh Tyagi.
3. ROLL CALL:
Present: Noam Adler, Eve Luekenga, Elijah Luekenga, Caden Hafer, Dylan
Montelibano, Katelyn Craft, Charlea Moore, Gauransh Tyagi, Michael
Stevenson, Abraham Jeong, Zoey Jeong, Bianca Gagajena, and Allison
Mendelson
Absent: None.
Staff: Assistant City Manager, PJ Gagajena, Parks and Recreation Director,
Jeremy Laurentowski, Recreation Services Manager, Stephanie
Anderson, and Recreation Coordinator I, Hilary Kleiman.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT:
None.
5. DISCUSSION / ACTION ITEMS:
A. Guest Speaker — Assistant City Manager, PJ Gagajena
Assistant City Manager, PJ Gagajena, shared a presentation that included
local city government operations and current projects that the City of
Moorpark is working on.
B. City Council Presentation Recap
Recreation Coordinator I, Hilary Kleiman, thanked the Teen Council Members
who presented at the February 5 City Council meeting and shared that City
Council members had positive responses to their presentations.

C. Teen Cupcake Challenge Recap
i. Recreation Coordinator I, Hilary Kleiman, highlighted the success of the
Teen Cupcake Challenge event and thanked the Teen Council members in
attendance who helped judge, take pictures, and assisted with cleanup.
D. Movies in the Park — Peer Survey Results
i. Teen Council member, Dylan Montelibano, shared feedback from the
Google form survey including movies in the Comedy genre getting the
most interest. Other movie suggestions from the survey included 10
Things 1 Hate About You, Grease, Top Gun: Maverick, Adam Sandler
movies, and movies in the Star Wars and Marvel franchises.
Recreation Coordinator 1, Hilary Kleiman, suggested posting the survey
link to the Moorpark Teen Council lnstagram account.
E. Ad Hoc Updates
i. Government Relations Ad Hoc member, Gauransh Tyagi, shared that
he had reached out to City Council members to plan a speaking event
at his school and Parks and Recreation Director, Jeremy Laurentowski,
offered to help coordinate between the school administration and City
Council members.
ii. Events/Program Ad Hoc members shared that the Events/Program Ad
Hoc is working on details and activities for the Teen After Dark event.
Recreation Coordinator 1, Hilary Kleiman, shared that some decorations
with the 80s theme have been purchased.
iii. Social Issues Ad Hoc members shared that the Social Issues Ad Hoc is
working on collaborating with the High School Wellness Center setting
up a booth where students can create friendship bracelets and fliers
can be passed out that provide resources for mental health issues.
iv. Social Outreach Ad Hoc members shared that the Social Outreach Ad
Hoc is working with the other Ad Hocs to create lnstagram posts for
their respective events and programs.
F. ANNOUNCEMENTS/FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS:
Announcements from Teen Council members
a. Parks and Recreation Director, Jeremy Laurentowski,
notified Teen Council members that Ad Hoc representatives
will be asked to present their progress towards their Ad
Hoc's goals at an upcoming Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting.
Future agenda items from Teen Council members
a. Discussion regarding the restructuring of Ad Hocs

H. ADJOURNAMENT:
Teen Council Chair, Abraham Jeong, adjourned the meeting at 6:16 p.m.
