REGULAR MEETING
January 4, 2023, 5:00 p.m.

1. CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 5:04 p.m. by Chair, Jaynie Jindarat.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by member, Capri Alva.
3. ROLL CALL:
Present: Riya Argawal, Capri Alva, Erica Chen, Abraham Jeong, Melanie Jimenez,
Jaynie Jindarat, Peyton LitbergFrank, Arnav Magadala, Everly Moore,
Maribel Rodriguez, Parker Rowley, and Jade Yakel.
Absent: Owen Abilleira, Grace Chandler, and Sahil Sampangi.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT:
None.
5. DISCUSSION / ACTION ITEMS:
A. Event Recap and Feedback Opportunity
a. Breakfast with Santa: Saturday & Sunday, 12/10 & 12/11 - Recreation
Supervisor, Victoria Peterson, thanked the Teen Council for volunteering
at this event and gave a recap of the event. She asked Teen Council
members for feedback regarding ways to improve the event in the future,
and the feedback included the need for additional volunteers.
B. Upcoming Events in 2023
a. Valentine Skate Night: Saturday, 2/11/23 — Recreation Supervisor,
Victoria Peterson, encouraged Teen Council to promote the event within
the Teen Council's various social groups. She also asked that Teen
Council members attend to assist in the set up and clean up of the
event.
b. Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday, 4/8/23 — Recreation Supervisor, Victoria
Peterson, gave an overview of the event and encouraged Teen Council
to promote the event to other teens as a volunteer opportunity, since this
is a very busy event. Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson,
reminded the Teen Council that their attendance was mandatory.

c. Moorpark Earth Festival & Community Yard Sale: Saturday, 4/29/23 —
Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson, encouraged Teen Council to
be present at this event and Teen Council members discussed ideas for
an activity booth for Teen Council to run. Ideas included rock painting
and take-home seed bomb crafts.
C. Teen Council Event in 2023
a. Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson, spoke with Teen Council
regarding their previous inquiry into creating a Teen Council event for
2023. She outlined the process for planning an event which included
potential budget allowances, time of year, supplies needed, and more.
Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson, asked the Teen Council to
take these components into consideration and to be prepared to share
their event ideas at the next meeting.

None.
7. CONSENT CALENDAR:
A. Minutes from December 7, 2022 were approved.
8. ADJOURNAMENT:
Chair, Jaynie Jindarat, adjourned the meeting at 5:37 p.m.
