CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 5:02 p.m. by Teen Council Co-Chair, Jade Yakel. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Teen Council member, Jai Sarin. 3. ROLL CALL: Present: Capri Alva, Allie Cano, Alison Jimenez, Elijah Luekenga, Aadya Magadala, Everly Moore, Aditya Popuri, Jai Sarin, Jade Yakel, and Amber Yakel. Absent: Katelyn Craft, Abe Jeong, Zoey Jeong, Dylan Montelibano, and Sahil Sampangi. Staff: Parks and Recreation Director, Jeremy Laurentowski, and Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. 5. DISCUSSION /ACTION ITEMS: A. Continue discussion of future Teen Council structure and sub-committees i. Parks and Recreation Director, Jeremy Laurentowski, discussed ways to enhance Teen Council in future years. Some ideas included the Teen Council creating events for the next Teen Council to accomplish early on in the year and creating sub-committees. Sub-committees may include topics such as government, social media, and event planning. The sub- committees would be responsible for collaborating and presenting ideas to the entire Teen Council at monthly meetings. Other suggestions for improvements included expanding the Teen Council to more students, promoting the Teen Council more heavily, and presenting more frequently to the City Council and Parks and Recreation Commission. Event Recap: Moorpark Earth Festival (Saturday, May 4th: 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.) i. Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson, thanked the Teen Council members who were present, and those members shared that they had a good time despite the bad weather. The Teen Council hosted a rock painting activity for children, and Teen Council members also assisted in the set up and clean up of the event, as well as distributing milkweed seed packets to event attendees. C. Teen Council Recognition at City Council meeting - Wednesday, May 15 i. Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson, reminded the Teen Council that they would be recognized for their service and accomplishments at City Council meeting on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Teen Council members were encouraged to attend. D. Applications available for next Teen Council term — due by May 27 i. Recreation Supervisor, Victoria Peterson, reminded the Teen Council that applications to participate in next year's Teen Council were available online at www.moorparkca.gov/serve and that members were encouraged to reapply and promote the opportunity to their peers. 6. ANNOUNCEMENTS/FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: None. 7. CONSENT CALENDAR: A. Minutes of the Regular Meeting on January 10, 2024, were approved. B. Minutes of the Special Meeting on January 24, 2024, were approved. C. Minutes of the Regular Meeting on February 28, 2024, were approved. D. Minutes of the Regular Meeting on March 13, 2024, were approved. E. Minutes of the Regular Meeting on April 10, 2024, were approved. F.
