SUBJECT: Consider Regular Meeting Schedule, Time and Place
BACKGROUND
Municipal Code Section 2.70.080 Organization, and Rules of Procedure Section
12.1, Meeting Time and Schedule, for City of Moorpark Library Board meetings, call
for the Library Board to hold regular monthly meetings according to a schedule set
by the Board at the first regular meeting in July. As this is the first regular meeting, it
is appropriate to set the Library Board regular meeting calendar through June 30,
2026.
DISCUSSION
Library Board regular meetings for the past 12 years have been held on the second
Tuesday, monthly, starting at 6:00 p.m., with additional special meetings scheduled
as needed. Staff recommends this schedule be maintained through June of 2026. A
calendar reflecting this recommendation is attached. In providing the annual regular
Library Board meeting calendar, staff has considered national holidays and a
summer “dark” period that aligns with the City Council’s four-week summer recess in
the month of August.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
1)Approve the 2025/2026 Library Board regular meeting calendar; and 2) Continue
with the start time of 6:00 p.m.; and 3) Meet at Moorpark City Hall, located at 323
Science Drive, Moorpark, CA 93021.
