BACKGROUND INFORMATION.
In August of this year, the Council adopted Resolution Nos.
85-215 and 85-219 which made the provisions of the
California Vehicle Code applicable to the PC-3 and Peach
Hill areas. These resolutions were necessary because the
streets in the subject areas have not been accepted by the
City for maintenance and are therefore considered to be
private streets.
To be legally enforceable, regulatory signs on these streets
must still be approved in the normal manner, i.e. , an
engineering __analysis and adoption by the Council of an
appropriate resolution. That is the purpose of this
material.
The subject locations were investigated, and it was
determined that because Tierra Rejada Road is intended to
operate as a "through" street it is appropriate that traffic
on Southhampton Road, Mountain Meadow Drive and Walnut Creek
Road be required to stop before entering Tierra Rejada Road.
It was similarly determined that because Walnut Creek Road
should also operate as a "through" street it is appropriate
that traffic on Crystal Ranch Road be required to stop
before entering Walnut Creek Road.
The "STOP" signs at the subject locations have been
installed by the developers in coordination with the City
Engineer's office. Those pavement markings not already in
place will be installed before the City accepts the streets
for maintenance.
RECOMMENDED MOTION
Adopt Resolution No. 85- , authorizing the installation of
stop signs at various locations.
