Dennis Delzeit, City Engineer p40,4e DATE: City Council Meeting of September 16 , - 1985 SUBJECT: Acceptance of Public Improvements and Exoneration of Bonds for Tract 3841-1 and 2 (Griffin) BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Tracts 3841-1 and 2 are located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Tierra Rejada Road and Los Angeles Avenue in the City of Moorpark . A vicinity map is enclosed for reference. On March 1, 1983 the Ventura Board of Supervisors approved the merger and resubdivision of the lots contained within the recorded Final Maps of tracts 2817-3 and 4 to form the Final Maps for tracts 3841-1 and 2 and entered into an- agreement with Griffin Homes for the constguction of public improvements . The agreement required completion of all improvements by June 1 , 1984. The Ventura County Board of Supervisors subsequently approved a time extension requiring all improvements be done by March 1, 1985 . Construction of the majority of the public improvements have been completed. Improvements that have yet to be completed are the Glenwood Park site, the street trees along Los Angeles Avenue, and the median landscaping along Tierra Rejada Road. The City Manager has agreed to accept the public improvements that have been fully completed and to hold the grading bond for security to the uncompleted improvements . 799 Moorpark Avenue Moorpark, California 93021 (805)529-6864 L t Page -2- Accordingly, it is now appropriate to accept the completed improvements and exonerate the following bonds: Tract 3841-1 _ TYPE AMOUNT SURETY CO. Subdivision Improvements Performance & Payment $345,000 Developer's Ins. 105362 Monuments $ 8,000 105365 Taxes $ 5,000 105535 RECOMMENDED ACTION: Accept the completed public improvements within tracts 3841-1 and 2, include the streets in the City street system for maintenance and authorize the City Clerk to exonerate the Monument Bond, the Performance and Payment Bond, and the Tax Bond.
