Cost Recovery Report. The summer season ran from June 1 through August 31. This
summer, the Recreation Division offered twelve events, recreation classes, Camp

EVENTS
3rd of July Fireworks Extravaganza:
This annual Independence Day
celebration was held on Thursday, July 3
beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Arroyo Vista
Community Park. Admission was $8.00
per person presale, and $10.00 at the
gate. On-site parking was $5.00 per
vehicle. Nearly 9.500 people enjoyed the
festivities this year.
The event featured live entertainment by
rock band Ignition and Raymond Michael’s
Tribute to Elvis. A presentation of the
American Flag was made by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard, with
the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Enegren and the National Anthem sung by
Moorpark Has Talent winner Ava Winkle. The event also included three food courts, a
games and attractions area, and the aerial fireworks display.
Due to failures on the part of the fireworks vendor, the show was delayed by
approximately 40 minutes, and about 30% of the shells did not fire. Staff is still working
with the vendor to address the issues with the display.
