Staff Recommendation: Approve the minutes as processed. Approved B. Consider Repairs to 661 Moorpark Avenue (City Owned Single Family Residential Unit) . Staff Recommendation: Appropriate a total of $17,953.09 as follows: 1) MRA appropriate $5,813.50 (Acct No. 001.4.170.902) for housing improvements; 2) City Council appropriate $8,093.06 (Acct. Hayes, Redevelopment Manager � A— August 21, 1995 (Mtg of 09/06/95) SUBJECT: Consider Repairs to 661 Moorpark Avenue (City Owned Single Family Residential Unit) BACKGROUND The City Council directed staff at their meeting of July 19, 1995 to return with estimates for the repair of the house at 661 Moorpark Avenue so that the house can be rented on a short term basis. At that meeting the Council also authorized the use of the back half of the property by the Public Works Department which will allow them additional storage for equipment and materials as well as an exit to High Street. DISCUSSION The following are estimates for preparing the rear lot for parking usage and for repair of the structure: I. STRUCTURE COSTS A. Prep and Paint Trim of House $ 50.00 B. Demo Fireplace and Cover $ 15.00 C. Replace Window $ 25.00 D. Landscape $ 100.00 E. Repair Plumbing $ 25.00 F. Window Screens $ 75.00 Prep and Pave Driveway (hot patch and sealer) $ 100.00 1 000007 H. Prep and Paint interior $ 50.00 I. Replace side door $ 100.00 J. Clean House for Occupancy $ 50.00 K. Acid bath Fixtures $ 25.00 L. Electrical repair $2,800.00 M. Labor $1,870.00 N. Contingency 10% $ 528.50 Total: $5,813.50 II. PARKING AREA COSTS A. Fence /Slates $ 6,500.00 B. Security Detection Lights $ 600.00 C. Tree Removal $ 500.00 D. Dumpster - Disposal $ 400.00 E. PMB -Base $ 900.00 F. Tractor Rental $ 350.00 G. Miscellaneous Tool Rental $ 250.00 H. Labor Costs $ 1,536.00 I. Contingency 10% $ 1,103.60 Total: $12,139.60 The garage will be painted and the storage shed and carport will be removed. 2 000008 FUNDING The funding for the purchase of both 675 and 661 Moorpark Avenue and the repairs to date are shown in the attached spreadsheet. It is recommended that the house repairs be funded by housing set aside funds since the unit will probably be rented to low and /or very low income persons. The funding for the expansion of the parking area could be funded from both gas tax and the general fund. RECOMMENDATION (Roll Call Vote) Staff recommends that the Moorpark Redevelopment Agency and City Council appropriate a total of $17,953.09 to the following accounts for this project: 1. MRA appropriate $5,813.50, Account No. 001.4.170.902 for housing improvements. 2. City Council appropriate $8,093.06, Account No. 003.4.142.902.0367 (2/3 gas tax funds) for Public Works yard improvements. 3.
