Staff Recommendation: Approve the Warrant Register.
B. Consider Notice of Completion for California Highway Patrol Office
Located at 216 Moorpark Avenue. Staff Recommendation: Authorize
the filing of the Notice of Completion and the release of the 10%
retention to Deverich Construction for this project.
C. Consider Signage for Chamber of_Commerce. Staff Recommendation:
That the Council approve the request for directional signage for the
Chamber of Commerce.
6. ADJOURNMENT:
Any member of the public may address the Agency during the Public Comments
portion of the Agenda, unless it is a Public Hearing or Presentations/
Action/Discussion item. Speakers who wish to address the Agency concerning a
Public Hearing or Presentations/Action/ Discussion item must do so during the
Public Hearing or Presentations/Action/Discussion portion of the Agenda for
that item. Speaker cards must be received by the Secretary for Public Comment
prior to the beginning of the Public Comments portion of the meeting and for
Presentations/Action/Discussion items prior to the beginning of the first item
of the Presentations/Action/Discussion portion of the Agenda. Speaker Cards
for a Public Hearing must be received prior to the beginning of the Public
Hearing. A limitation of three minutes shall be imposed upon each Public
Comment and Presentations/Action/Discussion item speaker. Copies of each item
of business on the agenda are on file in the office of the Secretary and are
available for public review. Any questions concerning any agenda item may be

SUBJECT: Notice of Completion for California Highway Patrol
Office Located at 216 Moorpark Avenue
BACKGROUND
On June 19 , 1996, the Moorpark Redevelopment Agency (the Agency)
authorized staff to proceed with the lease agreements by and
between the State of California, H. Edward Baher, and the Agency.
DISCUSSION
On August 1, 1996, the tenant improvements were completed and the
California Highway Patrol occupied the office. Deverich
Construction was awarded the Contract for Service for the
construction of the tenant improvements and building and site
improvements necessary for occupancy by the California Highway
Patrol. The total cost of construction was $29,555. 85. The
Highway Patrol portion of the costs is $9,998. 78, with the Agency
and Landlord providing $19 ,557 . 07 (Agency at $15,093 .47 and
Landlord at $4 , 463 . 60) . The Agency has withheld 10% of the
original bid which should be released to the contractor.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Moorpark Redevelopment Agency authorize
staff to file a Notice of Completion and release the 10% retention
to Deverich Construction for this project.

Consider Signage for Chamber of Commerce
The Moorpark Chamber of Commerce has requested that directional
signs be allowed to direct traffic to their office (see attached
letter). This request was presented to the Economic Development

For economic development purposes, the committee requested that
this item be presented to the City Council with the Committee's
favorable recommendation with placement preferably on private

RE: Designation Signs
Dear Richard:
In the absence of a Community Development Director I was informed that this letter
should be addressed to you. As you know the Chamber of Commerce offers a public
service in that we guide people around the City and give them very helpful information
regarding the City. Therefore we are requesting that directional signs be installed
informing everyone where we're located.
The signs would measure approximately 2' x 2' (what ever would be acceptable to all
parties) and the letters would be 4" high. The color would be blue letters on a white
background. We would like to see the signs placed in strategic locations for the
convenience of the public. (see attached diagrams)
Please let me know what else I need to do to facilitate this request. Thank you for your
cooperation in this matter.
