TO: Honorable Board of Directors
FROM: Dana Shigley, Administrative Services Direc r'U
DATE: June 13, 2002 (Meeting of July 17, 2002)
SUBJECT: Consider Amendments to 2001/2002 Fiscal Year Budget
DISCUSSON
On June 20, 2001, the Board of Directors adopted a budget for
fiscal year 2001/02. There have been several significant
actions taken by the Agency since that time and budget
amendments are now warranted. The attached resolution makes
adjustments to the 2001/02 adopted budget as follows:
1. In November 2001 the Agency issued new tax increment bonds
to finance several projects. This budget amendment adds bond
proceeds and related costs of issuance to the budget.
2. This amendment corrects the funding source for four capital
projects, moving them from fund 2903 (1999 bond proceeds - no
longer available) to fund 2902 (MRA property tax increment) and
fund 2904 (2001 bond proceeds).
3. We have restructured the accounting for property tax
increment revenues and debt service payments to more closely
reflect generally accepted accounting principles. This budget
amendment adjusts the budget accordingly.
These changes are ministerial and do not have any effect on the
amount of funding available to the agency nor total budget
expenditures, except as the Board of Directors has previously
authorized through separate actions.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION (Roll Call Vote Required)
Adopt Resolution 2002- amending the 2001/02 budget as
noted in exhibit "A" to the attached resolution.
