HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 1986 0629 CC SPCMoorpark California June 29, 1986 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark, California, was held on June 29, 1986 in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of said City located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California. 1. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 1 :00 p.m., the honorable Mayor Pro -Tem Thomas Ferguson presiding. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilmember Danny Wonl.ard. 3. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmembers Al Prieto, Danny Woolard, Leta Yancy- Sutton and Mayor Pro -Tem Thomas Ferguson; ABSENT: None. OTHER CITY OFFICIALS AND STAFF PRESENT Steven Kueny, City Manager Mary Jo Rasey, Deputy City Clerk 4. DISCUSSION ITEMS Mayor Pro -Tem Ferguson stated that the only item of business to be discussed would by the issue of closing City Hall on Monday, June 30, 1986. It was moved by Councilmember Yancy- Sutton that, City Hall be closed on Monday, June 30, 1986 to respectfully honor Moorpark's first City Clerk, Doris Bankus; and further that July 1, 1986, the third anniversary of the City of Moorpark, be declared Doris Bankus Day in respect for a great lady that did so much toward the birth of our City; and further that the American Flag be lowered to half mast on both days, which motion was seconded by Councilmember Prieto and passed by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Yancy- Sutton, Prieto, Woolard and Mayor Pro -Tem Ferguson; NOES: None; ABSENT: None. The City Manager, Steven Kueny then pointed out that the close of City Offices must be done by resolution, and introduced Resolution No. 86 -321. -1- I June 29, 1986 It was then moved by Councilmember Yancy- Sutton that Resolution No. 86 -321 entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOORPARK, CALIFORNIA, CLOSING CITY OFFICES ON JUNE 30, 1986 be approved; which motion was seconded by Councilmember Woolard and passed by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Yancy- Sutton, Woolard, Prieto and Mac +nr a,-„ -Tom Fpranson: NOES: None; ABSENT: None. It was then moved by Councilmember Yancy- Sutton that the meeting be adjourned, which motion was seconded by Councilmember Woolard and unanimously carried, the time being 1:07 p.m. Respectfully submitted DEPU TY CLERK APPROVED: i ..O -2-
