HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 1994 0302 CC SPC 7:10 PMMINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL Moorpark, California March 2, 1994 A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark, California was held on March 2, 1994 in the Council Chambers of City Hall of said City located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California. 1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lawrason called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: Councilmembers Montgomery, Perez, Wozniak, and Mayor Lawrason. Absent: Councilmember Hunter Staff Present: Steven Kueny, City Manager; Lillian E. Hare, City Clerk; Debbie Traffenstedt, Senior Planner; and Dorothy Vandaveer, Deputy City Clerk 3.A. LOTTERY TO PRIORITIZE THE TWO APPLICATIONS RECEIVED FOR THE FIRST TIME HOMEBUYER'S PROGRAM (TRACT 3963). Mayor Lawrason stated that the City of Moorpark, in conjunction with Simi Valley Bank, will be providing one first time home buyer with an opportunity to purchase a three - bedroom, single - family home with a special financing plan intended to reduce initial costs to the Buyer. The one available home is located in the Campus Hills neighborhood near Moorpark College. We are going to prioritize the two applications received from Moorpark residents. The first name drawn will be the applicant that will be given the first opportunity to submit an application to Simi Valley Bank for a home loan. If that applicant qualifies for the home loan based on the program criteria, then they will be able to proceed with the purchase of the one available home. If the first applicant is found not to be qualified or decides not to proceed with the home purchase, then the second applicant will be given the opportunity to proceed with the home loan application process.
