Moorpark, California April 6, 1994
A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark was
held on April 6, 1994 in the Council Conference Room of said City
located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California.
1. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Lawrason called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL: Councilmembers Hunter, Montgomery, Perez,
Wozniak and Mayor Lawrason.
Staff Present: Steven Kueny, City Manager; Richard Hare,
Deputy City Manager; Cheryl Kane, City
3. PUBLIC COMMENT: Attorney; Lillian Hare, City Clerk
None.
4. ACTION /DISCUSSION ITEMS:
A. Consider the Appropriation of $19,508.50 to Demolish
(Including a 10 Percent Contingency) the Mayflower Market
located at 105 High Street Damaged During the January
17, 1994 Earthquake. Staff Recommendation: 1)
Appropriate $19,508.50 (including a 10% contingency) from
the General Fund, 01.4.117.642, for the demolition of 105
High Street (Mayflower Market); 2) Authorize the City
Manager to enter into a contract with All Contractors
($6,550.00) for the demolition and VAC ($10,185.00) for
asbestos removal and to approve a contingency not to
exceed 10 percent of the total cost of the project; 3)
Approve the agreement with the owners of the Mayflower
Market subject to final language approved by the City
Attorney and City Manager for the reimbursement of the
project and authorize the City Manager to sign on behalf
of the City.
CONSENSUS: By consensus, the Council determined to defer
consideration until the regular meeting agenda item (Item
11.D. later in the evening.
5. CLOSED SESSION:
MOTION: Councilmember Perez moved and Councilmember
Montgomery seconded a motion to go into Closed Session for a
discussion of all items listed on the agenda:

The motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
Present in Closed Session were all Councilmembers; Steven
Kueny, City Manager; Richard Hare, Deputy City Manager; and
Cheryl Kane, City Attorney..
The meeting reconvened into Open Session at 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Kueny stated that only items 5.C., 5.E., and 5.F. were
discussed and there was no action to report out of Closed
Session.

4. ADJOURNMENT:
Mayor Lawrason adjourned the meeting at 7:00 p.m.
