An Emergency Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark,
California was held at 5:10 p.m. on January 17, 1994 at 4291
Ambermeadow Street, Moorpark, California.
1. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Lawrason called the meeting to order at 5:10 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilmembers Montgomery, Perez, Wozniak and Mayor
Lawrason
Steven Kueny, City Manager; Dorothy Vandaveer,
Deputy City Clerk
Absent: Councilmember Hunter was on official duty with the
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
3. ACTION /DISCUSSION:
A. Consider Existence of a Local Emergency as Determined by
the Director of Emergency Services on January 17, 1994.
Staff Recommendation: Adopt Resolution No. 94 -998
proclaiming the existence of a local emergency.
Mr. Kueny stated that the assessment of the damage caused
by the earthquake that struck the City at 4:31 a.m. has
substantiated the existence of a local emergency within
the City. He said in his role as Director of Emergency
Services he requested that the Mayor call the emergency
meeting of the City Council for the purpose of
considering the adoption of a resolution to be forwarded
to the appropriate government agencies.
MOTION: Councilmember Montgomery moved and Councilmember
Wozniak seconded a motion to adopt Resolution No. 94 -998
proclaiming the existence of a local emergency as determined
by the Director of Emergency Services at 11:00 a.m. on January
17, 1994. The motion carried by 4 -0 voice vote, Councilmember
Hunter absent for the vote.

4. ADJOURNMENT:
MOTION: Councilmember Montgomery moved and Councilmember
Perez moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried by 4 -0
voice vote, Councilmember Hunter absent for the vote.
Mayor Lawrason adjourned the meeting at 5:20 p.m.
