HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 1994 0518 CC SPCMINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL Moorpark, California May 18, 1994 A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark was held on May 18, 1994 in the Council Conference Room of said City located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California. 1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lawrason called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: Councilmembers Hunter, Montgomery, Wozniak, and Mayor Lawrason Absent: Councilmember Perez Staff Present: Steven Kueny, City Manager; Richard Hare, Deputy City Manager; Cheryl Kane, City Attorney; Lillian Hare, City Clerk; Mary Lindley, Assistant to the City Manager 3. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. Councilmember Perez joined the Closed Session at 6:42 p.m. 4. ACTION /DISCUSSION: A. Consider Award of Contract for the Demolition and Construction of the Dorothy Avenue Wall. Staff Recommendation: Award the contract for the demolition and construction of the Dorothy Avenue wall to Pacific Central Construction and authorize the City Manager to sign the contract on behalf of the City. Mary Lindley gave the staff report. MOTION: Mayor Lawrason moved and Councilmember Wozniak seconded a motion to approve the staff recommendation to award the contract for the demolition and construction of the Dorothy Avenue wall to Pacific Central Construction and to authorize the City Manager to sign the contract. Consider Authorization to Execute Certain Deeds and Related Documents Required for the Exchange of Property with Caltrans for the Future Caltrans Maintenance Station. Staff Recommendation: Authorize the Mayor and /or the City Manager to execute necessary deeds and related documents required to effect the property exchange described in the Cooperative Agreements. Mr. Kueny gave the staff report. He indicated that authorization was necessary to execute these and related documents in order to close escrow. MOTION: Councilmember Montgomery moved and Councilmember Wozniak seconded a motion to approve the staff recommendation to authorize the Mayor and /or the City Manager to execute necessary deeds and related documents required to affect the property exchange with Caltrans for the future Caltrans maintenance station. The motion carried by unanimous voice vote. 5. CLOSED SESSION: MOTION: Mayor Lawrason moved and Councilmember Montgomery seconded a motion to adjourn to Closed Session for a discussion of all items listed on the agenda: A. Present in Closed Session were all Councilmembers; Steven Kueny, City Manager; Richard Hare, Deputy City Manager; and Cheryl Kane, City Attorney. The Council reconvened into Open Session at 7:12 p.m. Mr. Kueny stated only Items 4.E., 4.I. and 4.K. were discussed and there was no action to report out of Closed Session. 6.
