Moorpark, California January 4, 1995
A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark was
held on January 4, 1995 in the Council Conference Room of said city
located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California.
1. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Lawrason called the meeting to order at 6:37 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilmembers Hunter, Montgomery, Perez,
Wozniak and Mayor Lawrason
Staff: Steven Kueny, City Manager; Richard Hare,
Deputy City Manager; Mary Lindley,
Assistant to the City Manager; Cheryl
Kane, City Attorney
3. PUBLIC COMMENT:
None.
4. CONSENT CALENDAR:
A. Consider Approval of Emergency Repairs to Well 11 at
Arroyo Vista Community Park. Staff Recommendation: 1)
Approve a project for the construction of emergency
repairs to Well #1 at Arroyo Vista Community Park Well
#1, for a cost not to exceed $25,000; 2) Approve the use
of a portion of the reserve for future capital
improvements to Arroyo Vista Community Park, for these
purposes; and 3) Authorize the City Manager to execute
necessary documents for the repair work required.
Mr. Gilbert indicated that the cost was $15,000.
MOTION: Councilmember Wozniak moved and Councilmember
Montgomery seconded a motion to approve a project for the
construction of emergency repairs to Well No. 1 at Arroyo
Vista Community Park by replacing the existing above ground
pump, shaft and tubing with newer pumping equipment, for a
total cost not to exceed $15,000 (including the $1,000
expended for the initial investigation); approve the use of a
portion of the reserve for future capital improvements at
Arroyo Vista Community Park (Fund 5 appropriation) for the
subject project; authorize the City Manager to execute
necessary contract documents for the repair work required.
The motion carried by unanimous roll call vote.

5. ACTION /DISCUSSION:
A. Consider Request from E1 Concilio for City to Co- SRonsor
Citizenship Workshop on January 21. 1995 at the Moorpark
Community Center. Staff Recommendation: Direct staff as
deemed appropriate.
MOTION: Councilmember Wozniak moved and Councilmember
Montgomery seconded a motion to waive the fees for the INS and
E1 Concilio workshop to be held on January 21, 1995 at the
Moorpark Community Center with the direction that the event be
held during the normal staff maintenance hours. The motion
carried by unanimous voice vote.
B. Consider SCAG Elections for a District 46 Representative
Scheduled for January 5. 1995 at Thousand Oaks City Hall.
Staff Recommendation: Direct staff as deemed
appropriate.
MOTION: Mayor Lawrason nominated and Councilmember Wozniak
seconded the nomination of Councilmember Montgomery as SCAG's
District 46 representative. The nomination carried by
unanimous voice vote.
CONSENSUS: By consensus, the Council directed that a letter
be prepared for the Mayor's signature recommending
Councilmember Montgomery and additionally requesting a new
meeting time during the evening hours.
6. ADJOURNMENT:
Mayor Lawrason adjourned the meeting at 6:55 p.m.
