Moorpark, California May 17, 1995
A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark was held
on May 17, 1995 in the Council Chambers of said city located at 799
Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California
1. CALL TO ORDER:
Mayor Lawrason called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL:
Present: Councilmembers Hunter, Montgomery, Perez, Wozniak
and Mayor Lawrason
Staff Present: Steven Kueny, City Manager; Richard Hare, Deputy
City Manager; Steven Hayes, Economic Development/
Redevelopment Manager; Lillian Hare, City Clerk
3. ACTION /DISCUSSION:
A. Consider Point Mugu U.S. Naval Base Inclusion on Base
Relocation and Closure (BRAC) 195 Possible Base Closure List.
Staff Recommendation: Direct staff as deemed appropriate.
Mr. Hayes gave the staff report. He indicated that the BRAG
Committee was hoping to raise $50,000.00 of which $31,000.00
is to be raised from the public sector for lobbying efforts
related to keeping Pt. Mugu Naval Base off the base closure
list. He said Moorpark's share was determined to be $900.00.
MOTION: Mayor Lawrason moved and Councilmember Perez seconded a
motion to appropriate $900.00 for the BRAC 195 efforts to keep Pt.
Mugu off the base closure list; the amount to be appropriated from
general fund reserves to 01.4. 17.647. The motion carried by
unanimous roll call vote.
4. CLOSED SESSION:
A. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - Existing Litigation
Name of Case: Theresa L. Dillon vs. City of Moorpark
MOTION: Councilmember Wozniak moved and Councilmember Hunter
seconded a motion to adjourn to closed session for a discussion of
Item 4.A Conference with Legal Counsel - Existing litigation Name
of Case: Theresa L. Dillon vs. City of Moorpark. The motion
carried by unanimous voice vote

Present in Closed Session were all Councilmembers, Steven
Kueny, City Manager; Cheryl Kane, City Attorney; Richard
Hare, Deputy City Manager
The Council reconvened into open session at 7:03 p.m. Mr.
Kueny stated there was no action to report.
5. ADJOURNMENT:
Mayor Lawrason adjourned the meeting at 7:03 p.m.
