HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 1995 0614 CC SPCMINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL Moorpark, California June 14, 1995 A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Moorpark was held on June 14, 1995 at the Moorpark Community Center, located at 799 Moorpark Avenue, Moorpark, California. 1. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Lawrason called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmembers Hunter, Montgomery, Wozniak and Mayor Lawrason Absent: Councilmember F,erez Staff Present: Steven Kueny, City Manager; Richard Hare, Deputy City Manager; Don Reynolds, Administrative Services Manager; Lillian Hare, City Clerk 3. ACTION /DISCUSSION: A. Consider Reauest to Waive Film Permit Fees for Emerson College, June 19 and 20, 1995. Staff Recommendation: Deny the request from Emerson College to waive fees, but allow the use of the property for a nominal fee and provide the City with the appropriate indemnification, hold - harmless provision and insurance, per the film permit application and letter. Mr. Reynolds gave the staff report. Holly McConkey, representing Emerson College, indicated that if the fees were not. waived, the College could not film in the City of Moorpark. MOTION: Councilmember Hunter moved and Mayor Lawrason seconded a motion to waive the fees except for the fee for the Administrative Services Manager's time at $58.00 per hour and police costs at the standard rate per Resolution 94 -1049; the property rental fee to be nominal; details to be worked out by the staff. The motion (tarried by voice vote 4 -0, Councilmember Perez absent foi the vote. 00637 MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL Moorpark, California June 14,1995 B. Consider Use of Parking Lots at Arroyo Vista Community Park for Community's July 3rd Celebration. Staff Recommendation: Direct staff as deemed appropriate. Councilmember Wozniak requested that use of the lower parking lot be authorized if needed for the event. MOTION: Mayor Lawrason moved and Councilmember Hunter seconded a motion to approve the recommendatin to allow the lower parking lot at Arroyo Vista Community Park to be used if necessary for the July 3rd celebration. The motion carried by voice vote 4 -0, Councilmember Perez absent for the vote. 4. CLOSED SESSION: None. 5. ADJOURNMENT: Mayor Lawrason adjourned the meeting at 6:55 p.m. ATTEST: Lillian E.
